trip

so, i came back from a one week trip last night. it was awesome!!

Monday
after a crazy 12 hour train ride (it's the cheaper, more time killing way to go.. ughh so many delays) arrive at family's place at 1am at night

Tuesday
swam in pool, played video games (including Time Crisis 3!!! hehe and donkey kong - with bongoes and Mario Party) and bbq at night with immediate and extended family

Wednesday
visited New England Aquarium in Boston (not that interesting by the way, was kinda small), walked around dt Boston, ate at Chinatown, walked around the Boston harbour (nice view) watched an imax 3D movie - "aliens of the deep", then headed home

Thursday
oldest cousin there (who is a pharmacist btw) takes us to the mall - spent like 2 hours in Barnes & Noble bookstore lol. but we also went to game stores too... mostly for Michael. but we did go in there and went to a toystore which had some toys on clearance for 50 cents. hehe. didn't get much though. they didn't look interesting enough for me

Friday
NEW YORK CITY! drove up there and then my cousin who lives there took us by subway to the Statue of Liberty (of course), chinatown shopping, and finally Time Square. I love Time Square at night, the lights, the action, the crazy photographers, the gigantic TOYS R US! hehe and then of course, drove home (2 hour drive btw)

Saturday
cousin that lives in NY took us to her old university (University of Connecticut) and we fed 3 lbs of carrots to horses... one of them was quite aggressive. seems like they hadn't eaten in a month. and fed cows hay... one of which started peeing right infront of me while he/she was eating the hay. had an enormous oreo ice cream sandwich that i couldn't finish and then went to play at an arcade where my sister hit a jackpot twice and we ended up with over 770 tickets for only $10 worth of coins. then went to the Taste of Hartford Chicken and Jerk Festival. good food, good food, but it was late when we got there so we didn't see much and we had to wait in line for 30 minutes while food was being cooked. then, at night, went glow in the dark bowling from 10pm 'til 12 am and got home at around 12:30am. haha was soooooooo fun. i bowled an all time high of 96 in the last round. =) yea... pretty sad since i don't think i've ever broken 100 without the bumpers. oh well, i almost did (y)

Sunday
return trip home. this time, a little over 12 hours on the train. it was delayed twice because we had to let other trains go first *arg. shakes fist* and once at US customs and another time at the Canadian customs. man.. we didn't get to Union Station until about 2.5- 3 hours later than scheduled. such an irritating ride. but i did meet a professor that taught at the university of Buffalo and she gave me her card. she was a nice lady. what did she teach? no, not pharmacology, it was psychological nursing. haha interesting. she had just come back from an international meeting on how to help out countries destroyed by natural disasters like the tsunamies and poor countries that are reallly behind in technology. did u know, that one of the places she had visited was Jamaica and she said they didn't even have an overhead projector for her to lecture from. quite sad how technologically advanced we are in comparison to less developed countries but we now think nothing of it. it's as if the technology were always there.

so all in all, it was a fantastic trip. i loved every bit of it. and don't worry robin, i still love you. =)

ps, can't wait to go camping. =)
